June 28, 2022 – Contiweb, a specialist manufacturer of web-handling equipment and provider of integrated technical solutions for web offset printing, web inkjet printing and packaging production, announced today that Canon Solutions America’s Production Print Solutions division has signed a reseller agreement to supply the Contiweb Digital Fluid Applicator (DFA-560) to the U.S. market.

In cooperation with Contiweb, Canon Solutions America evaluated the DFA-560 in its South Florida Customer Innovation Center, for use on the Canon ProStream 1800 inkjet web press. The DFA-560 serves as an in-line remoisturizer for the ProStream and will be made available to customers who require this technology.

The Contiweb DFA-560 is a standalone fluid applicator that uses tap water and a surfactant for intelligent remoisturizing of paper that is processed through an inkjet web press. It offers a water only or water + silicone substrate mixing and application system. Precise remoisturizing is obtained by individually controlling the remoisturizing process for each side of the paper. This process helps enable increased runnability of lightweight paper applications which require post process finishing. Optionally, the DFA-560 can also apply silicone, which helps stabilize the paper after printing, especially for heavy substrates which have heavy ink loads. This maximizes output quality prior to finishing while improving the overall user experience.

De Contiweb DFA-560 is een stand-alone herbevochtigingsapplicator die leidingwater en een surfactant gebruikt voor intelligente herbevochtiging van papier dat door een inkjet webpers is bedrukt. De DFA is een systeem voor het mengen en aanbrengen van alleen water of van water + siliconen op het substraat. Der Contiweb DFA-560 ist ein eigenständiger Flüssigkeitsapplikator, der Leitungswasser und ein Tensid für die intelligente Wiederbefeuchtung von Papier, das in einer Inkjet-Rollendruckmaschine verarbeitet wird, verwendet. Er bietet ein Misch- und Auftragssystem nur für  Wasser oder für Wasser und Silikonsubstrat. Die präzise Wiederbefeuchtung wird durch die individuelle Steuerung des Wiederbefeuchtungsprozesses für jede Seite des Papiers erreicht. Dieser Prozess trägt dazu bei, die Verarbeitungsfähigkeit von leichten Papieren , die eine Nachbearbeitung erfordern, zu erhöhen,. Optional kann der DFA-560 auch Silikon auftragen, was zur Stabilisierung des Papiers nach dem Druck beiträgt, insbesondere bei schweren Bedruckstoffen mit einem hohen Tintenauftrag. Il Contiweb DFA-560 è un applicatore di fluidi indipendente che utilizza l’acqua del rubinetto e un tensioattivo per la riumidificazione intelligente della carta stampata in inkjet. Grazie al proprio sistema di miscelazione può applicare fluido a base di sola acqua o di acqua e silicone. La riumidificazione precisa si ottiene controllando individualmente l’applicazione per ogni lato della carta. Questo processo consente di aumentare la macchinabilità delle applicazioni su carta leggera che richiedono una finitura successiva al processo.
