Screen Europe and Meccanotecnica today announce a collaboration which will bring together Screen’s EQUIOS Book Solution package with Universe Sewing from Meccanotecnica. Designed as a single interface to automate job management, EQUIOS supports roll to book impositions required for high quality book finishing solutions. This latest development includes a special page order needed for Meccanotecnica’s Universe Sewing. It also includes a variable data processing function for the dynamic barcodes required to identify signatures and book blocks for sewing.

Meccanotecnica launched the new Universe Sewing Web-fed in February this year. The automatic book folding and sewing machine was designed to produce high quality lay flat books directly from the pre-printed roll. Universe Sewing performs several processes all-in-one, including: unwinding, cutting, scoring and folding, collating, and sewing. Ideal for web digital printers who have the need to manage short to long runs efficiently, the system avoids non-productive steps such as: plating, folding, palletizing and gathering, especially for high signature-count books.

The new Screen EQUIOS features will be available in January 2018 for the Screen Truepress Jet520HD press. Designed to support today’s book printing market, the high-speed inkjet web press features 1,200 dpi true resolution and precise droplet size control in order to deliver flexo-quality colours, textures, details and solid ink areas expected for high-end publication work. With the introduction of Truepress SC Inks exclusively for use with Screen’s TPJ520HD, customers’ choice of stock also dramatically increases, with standard coated stocks for offset printing now an option. The integral texture and feel of coated paper – including glossy papers used for high value books – is maintained, whilst printing is also possible on a wide range of non-coated papers, including standard and specialised inkjet types.

Meccanotecnica a lancé la nouvelle couseuse rotative Universe Sewing en février de cette année. Cette machine à plier et à coudre permet de produire en ligne des livres de grande qualité directement à partir de la bobine pré-imprimée. La Universe Sewing est une chaîne de façonnage tout-en-un qui exécute les opérations suivantes : dévidage, coupe, rognage et pliage, assemblage des cahiers et couture.  Idéale pour les professionnels de l’impression rotative numérique qui ont besoin de gérer efficacement des tirages à gros et petits volumes, la machine permet d’éliminer des étapes non-productives telles que le surfaçage, le pliage, la palettisation et l’assemblage, particulièrement pour les livres comptant un grand nombre de cahiers.

Les nouvelles fonctionnalités du logiciel EQUIOS de Screen seront disponibles à partir de janvier 2018 pour la presse Screen Truepress Jet520HD. Conçue pour répondre aux défis du marché de l’impression de livres actuel, cette presse rotative jet d’encre à haute vitesse possède une résolution de 1200 dpi et un contrôle précis de la taille des gouttelettes afin de produire les couleurs de qualité flexo, les textures, les détails et les zones d’encre solide essentiels à l’impression de beaux livres. L’introduction des encres Truepress SC, spécialement mises au point pour la Screen TPJ520HD permet aussi d’augmenter énormément le choix de médias offert aux clients, avec possibilité d’impression offset sur des papiers couchés  standard. La texture et le toucher du papier couché (y compris les papiers glacés utilisés pour les beaux livres) sont préservés, et il est également possible d’imprimer sur une grande variété de papiers non couchés, y compris les papiers jet d’encre standard et spécialisés.

Meccanotecnica hat die neue Universe Sewing Web-fed im Februar dieses Jahres eingeführt. Die automatische Buchfalt- und -heftmaschine wurde zur Herstellung hochwertiger Lay-Flat-Bücher direkt von der vorgedruckten Rolle entwickelt. Universe Sewing führt mehrere Prozesse in einem Arbeitsgang aus, darunter: Abrollen, Schneiden, Rillen und Falzen, Sammeln und Heften. Das System ist ideal für Web-Digitaldrucker, die kurze bis lange Auflagen effizient abwickeln müssen, und vermeidet unproduktive Schritte wie Beschichten, Falten, Palettieren und Sammeln, besonders bei Büchern mit einer hohen Bogenanzahl.

Die neuen Screen-EQUIOS-Funktionen werden im Januar 2018 für die Screen Truepress Jet520HD Presse erhältlich sein. Die für den modernen Buchdruckmarkt entwickelte hochproduktive Inkjetmaschine hat eine echte Auflösung von 1.200 dpi und zeichnet sich durch eine präzise Steuerung der Tröpfchengröße aus.

Mit ihr können die bei hochwertigen Publikationen erwarteten Farben, Texturen, Details und Vollflächen erzielt werden. Mit der Einführung von Truepress SC Ink, die speziell für die TPJ520HD von Screen vorgesehen ist, nimmt die Auswahl an Bedruckstoffen ebenfalls dramatisch zu, darunter jetzt auch gestrichene Papiere für den Offsetdruck. Die Textur und Griffigkeit von gestrichenem Papier – einschließlich Hochglanzpapieren für hochwertige Bücher – wird beibehalten. Das Drucken ist auch auf zahlreichen ungestrichenen Papieren möglich, darunter Standard- und Spezialpapiere für den Inkjet-Druck.

Meccanotecnica ha presentato la nuova Universe Sewing a bobina nel febbraio 2017. La linea automatica di piega e cucitura di fogli singoli provenienti da stampa digitale web è stata progettata per produrre libri di alta qualità direttamente da bobina. Universe Sewing esegue diversi processi in un unico passaggio: svolgimento della bobina, taglio, cordonatura e piega, raccolta e cucitura. E’ la soluzione ideale per stampatori digitali a bobina che hanno la necessità di gestire efficacemente dalle brevi alle lunghe tirature, evitando passaggi non produttivi come: la creazione delle lastre di stampa, la piega, la raccolta e il successivo stoccaggio delle segnature, in particolare per libri con un elevato numero di pagine.

Le nuove funzioni EQUIOS di Screen saranno disponibili a partire da gennaio 2018 per la macchina da stampa Screen Truepress Jet520HD. Progettata per l’odierno mercato della stampa dei libri è caratterizzata da una risoluzione reale di 1.200 dpi e un controllo preciso delle dimensioni dei droplet al fine di fornire colori di qualità flexo, texture, dettagli e aree di stampa compatte per lavori di alta qualità. Grazie all’introduzione degli inchiostri Truepress SC da utilizzare esclusivamente con TPJ520HD di Screen, viene aumentata drasticamente anche la scelta dei substrati per i clienti, lasciando come opzione anche gli stock per la stampa offset. Vengono mantenuti l’aspetto e la texture della carta patinata, compresa la carta lucida utilizzata per libri di alto valore, mentre è possibile la stampa anche su una vasta gamma di carta non patinata, tra cui quella per inkjet sia speciale che standard.
